Your Camping Guide to the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution

In 2025, the United States marks a monumental milestone: the 250th anniversary of the start of the American Revolutionary War. This semiquincentennial (a mouthful, we know) is a once-in-a-generation event being celebrated all across the country, especially during the July 4th weekend. Festivities and celebrations will continue until 2026, which marks the 250th anniversary of America’s independence.

That means RVers and campers have an extra-festive peak season (or two) in store, and it’s time to hit the road and partake in the nationwide celebration. Here’s what to look forward to.

2025 Peak Camping Season Is Extra Festive

Cities, parks, and historic landmarks are pulling out all the stops to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Revolutionary War. Expect multi-day festivals, patriotic concerts, immersive battle reenactments, heritage fairs, and special Fourth of July events like you’ve never seen.

With so much to experience, RVing and camping has its perks as your mode of travel this season:

  • Avoid the crowds. People will be traveling from all over to celebrate, especially to historical sites like Lexington and Concord, Boston, Philadelphia, New York City, and Washington, D.C. By camping nearby, you can enjoy the festivities without the hassle of crowded hotels or long commutes.
  • Stay flexible. You can create your own itinerary, explore multiple sites, and stay as long as you like. It’s the ultimate way to experience this semiquincentennial on your terms.
  • Make friends along the way. This is a unique opportunity to share stories around the campfire, attend communal events, and make new connections on your travels.

Gear up to enjoy a unique summer of outdoor fun and firework shows that go way beyond your neighborhood display.
