Allison Creek Park — Reviews

Allison Creek campground is a new jewel among campgrounds that has only been open a few months. The lots are level and paved with full hook ups. There are large gravel, patios, which can also be used for additional parking. A couple of the lots are concrete with concrete patios that would be ideal for handicapped campers. Each lot an aluminum picnic table as well as a fire pit. The campground is in circled by a gravel greenway, that connects to other trails, including those that go to the lake. The people in the office are there to help, as are the Park Rangers. Our grandchildren loved the large handicapped, accessible playground with equipment that is a step above most playgrounds. A paved circle connects all of the campground sites. Though they did not bring their bicycles, this would be a great place for children to ride their bikes. The campground is approximately 30 minutes south of Charlotte. Based on reviews, this campground is probably the best one in the Charlotte area. We could not be happier with the campground, and definitely plan to go back.

Allison Creek is a clean, pretty and quiet campground.

This is an immaculate park! It’s brand new but man, they have a done a great job with the sites. The sites are huge and each have a picnic table and fire pit. The walking trail is absolutely lovely and easy to navigate. The park ranger David is very nice as well. The bathrooms are very clean and WARM! we stayed for one night on our way to Charlotte for cross country nationals and I wish we had more time at this park. The play area looked like it would have been perfect for our 3yo. We will more than likely make this a stop when we’re back in Charlotte in 3 years. Hopefully for longer next time!

Allison Creek has very large sites, great trails and a wonderful playground for the kids. The entire park is well maintained.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed and providing great recommendations for nearby activities. Whether you’re looking for a quiet retreat or a place to connect with fellow campers, Allison Creek Campground is a great choice. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch camping experience!
