Cashie River Treehouses and Campground — Reviews

I found about this place through my cousin who lives in North Carolina. I rented out three tree houses and when I tell you, it was epic. My fiancé was so happy his friends and family came out. We will be doing this again in the summer.

We've stayed at this RV park many times. We have family in Windsor, so it is very convenient. The availability of the washer & dryer, and the bathrooms/bath house is nice.

We have been to Cashie River treehouse campground twice and both times the experience has been awesome. One suggestion would be because the temperature is changing watch for spiders moving inside the bathrooms. We highly recommend this campground its quiet and inviting in ALL aspects.

It is forest camping, with good bathrooms and showers. Best part is they give you access to a FREE washer and dryer in good working order.

Peace, quiet, and pleasently dark at night. The toilets being a long walk away was a bit rough, but overall pretty good. Summer visit was a bit questionable, small fan in the treehouse, but definitely bring at least one extra or more, the extra air flow is required. It gets really hot.

3rd time there this year. Only thing would be nice is if we had closed in fire pits in the back in spots like the pull throughs do. Not a complaint just a suggestion but otherwise perfect spot to hit for a quick weekend from Chesapeake.

Water hookups in the ground boxes in water. We had to dip out to hook up water. Wet muddy yards. Confined to rv and short parking back in sites. We will not camp there again.

The only thing keeping me from a 5 star review was the tall grass and bugs (likely because of the tall grass). I actually went and bought a small weed trimmer to clear around our site. I know the city runs the campground, and am quite considerate of that. Were this a private facility, I would have some more critical elements to say. All of that said, we absolutely LOVE Cashie River! If you are looking for a quiet place to escape and essentially unplug for a while, this is it.

Quiet, Place, clean restrooms and reasonably priced

This campground was a pleasant surprise. It had nice shade on one side of the park and the bathrooms were clean. The best surprise was the free laundry! Only one washer and dryer but so nice!!! It’s basically a big circular road with tents on the inner circle and RVs on the outside of the road. There is the river and access to it right next to the campground. It has a boardwalk out onto the river. With a parking lot next to it. There wasn’t a lot of people there but there was a lot of traffic. Someone leaving and coming every day we were there. All reservation and check in is online only. There is no personnel onsite. I did see a sign that said the area is under surveillance by neighborhood watch. And I saw a police officer drive by so it felt nice and safe. The power is the one thing we had a problem with. On site number 10. The 50amp didn’t work for us so we used the 30amp. It was a great experience for our family and dog. It was a nice location to venture out and explore around areas. The power is the one thing we had a problem with. On site number 10. A nice no frills campground with level sites.

Me any my little one loved it. During the day with not ac it’s a bit hot. But we worked around it. Little disappointed with the lack of fish. But the calm waters were great for my 5 year old to be out on her kayak and just get use to the waters
