Colorado Heights Camping Resort — Reviews

The vibe is like a state park with amenities on the doorstep of Monument, CO. Most sites are FHU and all are gravel. This is a very hilly property with lots of trees and narrow roadways. Sites are very close together and many are hard to level. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We’d stay again if in the area.

There were large drain holes filled with large stones on both sides of our site. It was very dangerous. It was difficult getting in and out especially when trying to move our camper out.

Loved being among the trees and it was quiet and peaceful

The park is located between I-25 and a housing development, but manages to present a 'nature' feel. Checkin was easy and showers were wonderful.

Pretty setting. Bathrooms clean but old. I like that they don’t use codes on the bathroom and laundry. Good location to travel north or south.

We planned a longer stay in the Monument area because our son was at college camp in Golden. We wanted the space to move around between cities and I found Colorado Heights on the Campspot app. I liked the layout of the park, it felt like there was a little more space between campers with all the pine trees. Reserving a spot was easy and communication with everyone was effortless. When we arrived it was just as described. Lots of trees and amenities. I had to work remote most days so I didn’t get to take advantage of everything but it was comfortable and relaxing. Everyone was friendly and the staff were very helpful. They had some evening events planned but because we had to go to Golden a couple of evenings we couldn’t participate but I thought that was neat they did something like this. It was a great experience and we will hopefully come again and spend at least another week here.

They said there was WiFi but there wasn’t. The camp spots were too close together and we couldn’t put our awning out because the tree was too close..

The campsite was incredibly small and when we opened the RV door there was a tree right there, without much area to move around in. Plus the noise from the highway was awful. It was noisy 24/7.

Very nice place with lots of trees and things for kids to do. Staff was very friendly and very accommodating.

Location, clean bathrooms and friendly hosts.

The staff was nice but that did not make up for the campground itself. The activities were very limited and kids were bored to death. Most importantly, the slips for the RV’s were the most unbalanced ones I’ve ever seen! Our leveler couldn’t even read how skewed the RV was and it took forever to lift it and stabilize the lifts. Most of the spaces were the same way and it was sad to see the machinations people went through to level them. You could also look at all the trees in the park and see the bark missing where people had tried to get out and couldn’t squeeze through successfully. I would never return here- life is too short for the aggravation and potential damage to my rig.

Showers were clean. Campground was quiet.
