Custer County Fairgrounds

Campsite Reservation Policy- Please read the campsite rules!

1. Reservations

Campsites at the Custer County Fairgrounds are available by reservation, subject to availability.

  • Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • A reservation is not considered confirmed until the required payment and/or deposit has been received.

  • Reservations must be made under the name of the person responsible for the campsite.

  • The person making the reservation is responsible for ensuring that all members of their party follow these policies.

  • The Fairgrounds reserves the right to limit the number of campsites reserved by an individual or group.

2. Check-In and Check-Out

  • Campsite check-in begins at 3pm

  • Campsite check-out is by 11am.

  • Early arrival or late departure may be permitted only with prior approval and may be subject to additional fees.

  • Campers must occupy only the campsite(s) assigned to them.

3. Campsite Rules

All campers are expected to maintain their campsite in a clean, safe, and respectful manner.

  • Keep campsites and surrounding areas clean and free of trash.

  • Trash must be placed in designated receptacles.

  • Quiet hours are 9 PM to 7 AM.

  • Excessive noise, disruptive behavior, or conduct that disturbs other campers is prohibited.

  • Alcohol consumption must comply with all applicable laws and Fairgrounds rules.

  • Illegal drugs and illegal activities are strictly prohibited.

  • Fireworks are not permitted on Fairgrounds property.

  • Only ONE Camper plugged in per pedestal.

  • All pets must remain on a leash at all times while on Fairgrounds property and must be cleaned up after. Pets may not be left unattended.

  • NO SEWER DUMP IS AVAILABLE AT THE CUSTER COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS. Dumping sewage or wastewater anywhere on Fairgrounds property is strictly prohibited. Anyone who attempts to dump sewage or wastewater on Fairgrounds property will be subject to a minimum $500 fee, in addition to any applicable cleanup or damage charges.

  • Campers may not damage, alter, or move Fairgrounds property, equipment, fencing, or facilities.

4. Payment

  • Full payment is due at the time of reservation unless otherwise specified.

  • Campsites will not be held without payment or an approved reservation arrangement.

  • Any unpaid balance must be paid before or upon arrival.

5. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the reservation date will receive a full refund

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the reservation date may be non-refundable.

  • No-shows will not receive a refund.

  • Refunds, when applicable, will be issued using the original payment method.

  • The Fairgrounds may make exceptions in cases of severe weather or other circumstances at the Fairgrounds’ discretion.

6. Vehicles & Parking

  • Vehicles must remain within designated camping or parking areas.

  • Do not block roads, gates, emergency access routes, or other campsites.

  • Speed limits and posted traffic regulations must be followed.

  • Recreational vehicles, trailers, and other equipment must be parked in a manner that does not interfere with neighboring campsites or Fairgrounds operations.

7. Utilities & Campsite Conditions

  • Campers are responsible for properly connecting and using available electrical and water hookups.

  • Campers may not tamper with or modify Fairgrounds utility connections.

  • Sewage and wastewater must be disposed of only in designated locations off Fairgrounds property, as no sewer dump is available at the Fairgrounds.

  • Dumping wastewater, sewage, grease, or other materials on the ground is prohibited.

8. Damage & Clean-Up

Campers are responsible for any damage caused by themselves, their guests, or members of their party.

Campsites must be left in the same general condition in which they were found. The Fairgrounds may charge the responsible camper for excessive cleanup, damage, or removal of abandoned property.

9. Fairgrounds Events

During the Custer County Fair and other Fairgrounds events, camping availability, access, check-in procedures, rates, and rules may differ from standard camping operations.

Event-specific camping policies will supersede this policy when applicable.

10. Right to Refuse or Terminate a Reservation

The Custer County Fairgrounds reserves the right to refuse or terminate a campsite reservation or require a camper to leave the property when a camper or member of their party:

  • Violates Fairgrounds rules or this reservation policy;

  • Engages in unsafe, threatening, disruptive, or unlawful behavior;

  • Damages Fairgrounds property;

  • Creates a disturbance that substantially interferes with other campers or Fairgrounds operations; or

  • Provides false or misleading information when making a reservation.

No refund will be provided when a reservation is terminated because of a violation of Fairgrounds rules or this policy.

11. Liability

Campers are responsible for the safety and security of themselves, their guests, vehicles, recreational vehicles, personal belongings, and pets while on Fairgrounds property.

The Custer County Fairgrounds is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.

12. Acknowledgment

By making a campsite reservation, the camper acknowledges that they have read, understand, and agree to follow the Custer County Fairgrounds Campsite Reservation Policy and any additional rules provided by the Fairgrounds.

The Custer County Fairgrounds reserves the right to modify these policies as necessary.
