Price, location,availability.

The park is beautiful and quiet. We arrived just before midnight, and finding our spot was very difficult. There were no maps, and the spot numbers don't face the road and are in a strange order. So we had to walk around with flashlights trying to figure out which way the numbers were laid out. They jumped around quite a bit, depending on which side of the road you were looking. Once we found our spot, we had no further issues.

Beautiful campground and park. We were excited at the opportunity to stay in this magical place after a long day of driving (almost 14 hours in the car). We landed, got settled and relaxed to the sound of frogs, owls, and various other birds with thousands of lightning bugs lighting the way across the very well maintained trails. The only reason that we are not giving 5 stars (not the fault of the park itself): there was a family blaring obnoxious music until after midnight and we were not able to fall asleep or sleep soundly.

Shower /bath house was beyond filthy. Men’s bath had 3 of 4 toilet stalls out of order and extremely dirty. Very disappointing since it was a holiday weekend and many guests required to use this option. Have been camping her for 5 years now and this was by far the worst we have seen the facilities.

Beautiful Park - Lots of shade - CLEAN

Close to lake. Spacious sites. Winding road thru campsites. High grass.

Bugs was annoying.

Loved the peace and tranquility. The lakes and trails and large camp lots. So much more of a true camping experience not bring piled one on top of each other.

porta potty was gross. unwanted camper came to camp site with issues.

The facilities were very clean when we stayed for the Eclipse. The campground itself was not very busy either, which surprised us, but it made the experience even better than we could have asked for. The site we tent camped at had water, electricity, a picnic table, and a fire ring that had its own swivel cooking grate attached that we used for one of our camp meals (fajita tacos cooked in aluminum foil packs). The hot water in the shower house runs out quick if everyone in the campground is trying to take a shower back to back, but that was the only downside that we could think of - though if you plan ahead it's easily avoided. The shower house also had a handicap shower with a bench seat, which was good to see! The lake was wonderful, and the trails are well maintained. There are some tables and benches around the campground/park that show their age in terms of the uncovered wood that is constantly exposed to the elements, but it was obvious that the staff does well to keep them maintained as we saw several fresh boards that had been recently replaced to keep the tables and benches usable and in working order. The staff were very nice and easy to talk to during the stay, and they made several rounds a day driving through the campground to check on things like the bath-house facilities. I would definitely come back to this location again based on the experience that we had for our trip to see the eclipse.

It was a nice park. Only thing was there was no hot water in the restroom in the morning.
