To begin with when we came in at 6 in the afterrnoon, most of the best tent sites on the beach were reserved which seemed strange. i checked that night and the next morning and none had been used. I suggest you charge double for a no show or put people on a list who don't call and don't show up and don't allow them to reserve. Maybe someone just forgot to take the reserved signs off but that is confusing when a person comes in looking for a place and the camp host is not around. We along with other people had trouble checking in on line. There was also a 3 dollar booking fee which is just an e xtra cost. We have stayed here over the years and really appreciate cthe leanliness and the beauty of the beach. It has never been this confusing before which is not a great incentive to come back.

We usually don't stay at private CGs, but we certainly were pleased with Herbster CG for our one night stay while exploring the Apostle Islands and the peninsula. Reservations were easy to make, easy on-line check-ins, clean, and our site (#43) was at the end of the loop with some privacy and shade. Well worth it!

AMAZING beach! Campground is small but they do a good job. Wish the showers had been cleaner since there was no sewer hookups. Friendly, quiet, respectful, relaxing atmosphere with PLENTY to do and see!

It was another beautiful adventure! My kids and I really love it here! Cleanliness of bathroom facilities are always clean as well as the grounds! Patty really takes great care of the place. We are looking forward to another adventure there soon!
