Kern River Sequoia RV Resort at Camp James — Reviews

We had an amazing time at this camp site! It was definitely dog friendly and everyone there was so friendly including staff and other campers. When we arrived our campsite was very clean and super easy to get to! We had great service but they still provided WiFi which was super nice! It was a wonderful trip to get away from the city and have a quiet weekend in nature.

I was disappointed staying at this campground. There weren't any amenities. There is a pile of trash at the end of the campground which looks like a dump site. The "picnic" area was over grown and inaccessible. They over charge per extra people ( more than 2) and pets. The no barking rule was a joke. There was a dog that barked every night all night. I will not recommend this place.

We stayed at Camp James with myself, my husband, and our 2 year old daughter. We were hesitant about the river knowing the dangers of the rapid water, but it was actually quite pleasant off the beaches at Camp James. We went to the river and played in the small coves each of the 5 days we stayed. We also loved splashing in the creek behind our space. The camp was very full, but the quiet times were respected by everyone, and the security was out making sure everyone was being quiet. The restrooms were very clean and maintained. We didn’t love paying $1.50 for a 3 minute shower, but we were happy to have somewhere to shower after a long day in the heat. The general store was well stocked and fairly priced, they had everything we had forgotten at home. We will definitely be back!

The 50amp breaker went off 4 times while there. We’ve never had this issue nor at the next 2 rv spots we had both Mon&Tue.

Staff was very helpful and kind. Restrooms were clean and operational. Staff cleaned up after the widlife that knocked over trashcans! Only thing I can say need attention was the grounds marshall that patrolled during quiet time needed to tell owners of dogs kept outside to put them in. They would often bark in the early hours of the morning whenever they got spooked by the wildlife. We were asked to be quiet when were having conversation by our fire but those dogs were much louder than us.

Very nice. Proximity to hiking trails is excellent. The riverside campground was very relaxing.

The campsite was very nice, clean and quiet, OH and it’s right off the river!!! By far this is one of the best camping places we have been too so far! We really enjoyed our stay and plan on returning for future camping!

Amazing host and maintenance people. We had an electrical issue at our camp site and they promptly took care of the issue.

It’s my favorite place! Where else can you get river front stay! The sound of the river is so calming. Resort is clean and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

Quite a surprise! Right on the Kern river, big sites good electricity great wifi with the beauty of the oaks. Definitely a return stop next time in the area.

The staff were very nice and generous. When we discovered our site was missing the only transportable fire pit, Bryce searched for it and when he couldn't find it, he gave us one from the maintenance yard. The grounds were well kept and taken care of.

it’s a nice place to stay and very relaxing. I will come back again in summer time.

The site was great, staff were welcoming and very helpful. The site worked perfectly and ideally placed for full hookup. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is that neighbors had dogs that barked incessantly all hrs. I understand not the responsibility of the Kern River resort team but it still detracted a little from the view, the wonderful sound of the river and atmosphere. Would still strongly recommend.
