We stayed at Camp James with myself, my husband, and our 2 year old daughter. We were hesitant about the river knowing the dangers of the rapid water, but it was actually quite pleasant off the beaches at Camp James. We went to the river and played in the small coves each of the 5 days we stayed. We also loved splashing in the creek behind our space. The camp was very full, but the quiet times were respected by everyone, and the security was out making sure everyone was being quiet. The restrooms were very clean and maintained. We didn’t love paying $1.50 for a 3 minute shower, but we were happy to have somewhere to shower after a long day in the heat. The general store was well stocked and fairly priced, they had everything we had forgotten at home. We will definitely be back!
