Nestled in a forested area along a branch of the LaHave River in Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, LaHave River Campground is a charming, family-owned and operated destination. Just a half-hour drive from world-renowned tourist towns and breathtaking beaches along the Atlantic Ocean, the campground offers a serene escape into rural Nova Scotia, where visitors can feel as though they are a million miles away from the hustle and bustle.

The riverside property spans 15 picturesque acres, providing a variety of accommodations to suit all styles of camping, including remote tent sites, serviced campsites, tiny cabins, a rental trailer, and seasonal spots. Guests can enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature while exploring the many amenities, such as swimming holes, a dock, a playground, a dog run, horseshoe pits, washer toss, basketball, and pool tables.

Weekday campers can savor the tranquility and spaciousness of the grounds, while weekends bring a vibrant community atmosphere with events and activities for all ages. Rental Trailer

Our Rental Trailers are a nice way to experience the great outdoors, all while enjoying some of the comforts of home! We host two Rental Trailers at the LaHave River Campground; both of which are 24 feet long and offer the same great floorplan. They are situated side-by-side on the main level of the campground, in close proximity to our store, playground, and swimming holes. Outside, you will be equipped with a deck with an awning, a patio set, a small outdoor kitchen, and a firepit. Indoors, you will have the comforts of a queen bedroom, open concept kitchen and living room with a large dinette, two double bunkbeds, a bathroom with shower, a furnace, air conditioning, and 30-amp service. Our kitchens are equipped with basic utensils, pots, pans, and dishes, and you will need to bring your own linens and towels. Our Rental Trailers host up to 6 guests, and they are not pet-friendly (our Tiny Cabins are though!).

Cabin

Tiny Cabin

Our Tiny Cabins are rustic, simple spaces with a small 10x12 foot footprint. These cabins bring ease to your cabin stay, allowing you to show up with a roof over your head, beds to sleep in, and some basic amenities. LaHave hosts 7 Tiny Cabins, each of which offer 2 double beds, a mini fridge, microwave, fan, small table and chair set, a deck, picnic table, firepit, 20 amp power and an outdoor water tap. Tiny Cabins are suitable for up to 2 adults and 2 children, and they are pet friendly. While all cabins offer the same amenities, there are some notable points when considering where is best for you to camp: 4, 14, 43 and 51 are all on the main level of the campground, while 52, 53 and 54 are up on a modest hill. 4 is across from the river, 14 is on the river, and 43 has a stream flowing behind it when water levels are high. 51 is our crooked hut, intentionally built a bit crooked. $95 + Campspot booking fee + tax. 4, 14, 43, 51, 52, 53, 54.

20 Amp Mill Hill

Raised up from the main level of the campground on a modest hill, Mill Hill hosts 10 serviced campsites that are more wooded and see a little less foot traffic than the main level of the campground. There is a porta potty on the road for convenience, with the sites offering water and 20 amp service, with access to our dump station included in your camping fee. Note that 55-56 and 58-59 are double sites, perfect for friends and family camping together. $50 + Campspot booking fee + tax. Mill Hill 55-64.

20 Amp River Road

These campsites are ideal for RVs less then 25 feet and tenters that do not mind a gravel base. River Road has beautiful foliage and proximity to swimming holes, with the sites offering water and 20 amp service, with access to our dump station included in your camping fee. $50 + Campspot booking fee + tax. Pull-Thru RV Site

You will need a pull thru campsite if you RV is over 25 feet in length. These sites offer water, 30 amp service, access to our dump station, and the ability to drive right into and out of your campsite. Our pull thrus are in an open area, and know that because we only have 5 of them, they book up quickly.

Tent

Tent, Unserviced

Our unserviced tent sites are our most remote campsites at LaHave, and highly recommended for tenters. They are raised up on a modest hill, a short walk from the main area of the campground, with a porta potty and outdoor water tap in proximity for convenience. Our unserviced sites do not see much foot traffic and are very peaceful with the sounds of the river flowing below them! There are 3 sections, each hosting 3 campsites – T1-T3, T5-T7 and T8-10. This means that if you come on a sold-out weekend, you will have neighbours directly beside you. If you come on a weekday or non-peak time though, we can move you to wherever you would have the most space, and you could likely have a whole section to yourself. Booking a whole section of 3 sites is a great way for groups of families and friends to have space to themselves. $45 + Campspot booking fee + tax. T1-3, T5-7, T8-10.

Oh we loved this place! Probably one of the nicest ones we have stayed at our time in Canada. One of the most idyllic and peaceful places we found. We were also lucky getting a spot under the trees close to the river swimming hole running past the campsite. The facilities were the best ones we had. Lovely made showers and washrooms. Firewood is available and a little shop with essentials and even campsite merch was there as well. We got the feeling that this is a bit of a local tip. Not many other oversea tourists but many campers from around the area. We just loved it.

My two kids 15 and 9 and myself had a great time at Lahave River Campground, we Tented and the site had water and a electricity, so bring a power cord and a hose, it will make clean up easy and you’re able to charge all your devices in your tent. The bathroom on site is very nice and clean with 4 showers! Walking trails to the river! Pool table and arcade game (1$ each to play) a basketball court and a playground! They have everything you need to have a wonderful time with family! With beautiful views and really nice camp sites! Definitely one of the provinces nicest and affordable campsites around! I would highly recommend! Also the staff is great and very friendly!! We will be making this a yearly tradition! Thanks Lahave River campground!!! You guys are awesome!
