Lake Camanche North Shore — Reviews

Camp location is ideal for a 2 night stay. Lake water makes it more fun. Very family friendly, the rangers are nice and helpful. They keep ice at the gate saving trips outside. Overall a great experience. I wish our site 61 had a bugger tree for shade but otherwise everything was nice

We enjoyed our stay.

It was very clean and a beautiful place to stay. We had a few issues with the neighbors across from us that made the stay a bit uncomfortable but besides that it was a good trip.

The front gate staff was very disorganized. They gave us a camp site and confirmed it was reserved for us but when we got there, there were other people confirming that our spot was actually theirs. We ended up having to drive back to the front gate just to get in contact with the staff again to get another site. It was really inconvenient as the phone line was not working to get a hold of anyone and I feel like it could have been avoided if they were more organized. The restrooms were dirty and we refused to use the porta potties as they weren’t clean often either. We made the most of it but we definitely feel like it could have been better.

It was a great experience with my family. It was our first time camping, and it was great! I wish there was more shade tho, but overall it was still great. We were close by the lake, and we were close by the bathrooms. The shower stalls were good too. It was coin operated, but for the 3 days that we stayed I only spent $5 for my shower!

A little difficult checking in and finding the cabin, but we ran into some very helpful staff

Stay was very pleasant.

Everything was great, we were so impressed with how well maintained the campsites were. We were especially impressed with the upkeep and maintenance of the porta potties.. we stayed at the primitive campsites and those were being kept clean every single day and every so often someone would come around to check them. The staff we encountered were very kind, genuine and caring. It was over all a great trip. We came back after almost 8 years of coming here for the first time and it didn’t disappoint. Eight years ago that we went the water level was so low we didn’t get to enjoy it but we had a great time camping then too.

Staff was friendly, bathrooms were clean, and lake was warm

Everything was great. The check-in was so smooth and fast. The location was amazing. Cleanliness of campsites. Staff professionalism and friendliness. The only request is to keep the restroom cleaner or clean them often. The showers were great, clean, and perfect. The dish washing area was good too. The only issue was restrooms.

Out of All the camps this one didn’t have any shade so 199 Is out of question if you don’t bring your own shade you will burn

Zero shade at site, trees very young. Giant pinching beetles everywhere at night. Not enough water spickets. The campfire grills too high above pit for cooking. However, the staff were all really great, very helpful & kind. Water was a great temperature, and there were plenty of beach areas to hang out at.
