North Bay Shore Campground — Reviews

Well maintained and nice sites that were in a tucked away area that was safe and quiet. Some site numbers were posted in a way that was difficult to see. Our site, #8, didn’t have a number posted. Otherwise a pleasant stay.

Overall nice basic campground. NY only issue was with all the visitors there and long term people with whole mansions setuo....nobody was outside and enjoying the cooler yet windy weather with the nor Eastern. Nobody socializing. Also the noreastern removed all the water feom the canal so access wasnt an option. Great and clean bathrooms. A nice outside sink for dishes. Playground and rec center. Office provides basics and has wood.

Nice place if you’re boating the Back Bay. Average sites , yet very close to water levels, we prudently left early because a North Eastern storm. I believe if we did not we would have been delayed or in a dangerous situation. The camp didn’t over any compensation for what was prepaid, So beware before you book

We had a fabulous time. It was quiet, relaxing and the bathrooms were clean. I had to wait 2 mornings because of cleaning and I wished cleaning took place alittle earlier, but I know I'm not the only guest and my times don't always match others so it was fine with me.

This is our local gem. We come here a few times a year. Staff is always so friendly and helpful. They remember us and are so personable. I will always reccomend this place.

Very relaxing place to stay, clean and bright bathrooms, air conditioned! The best.

I've been going to this campground for 3 years since I moved to Virginia Beach and love it! It's tucked away surrounded by the Back Bay, friendly people, clean bath house, and great fishing!

Enjoyable nice looking but lacked evidence of fishing in the water onsite

Lots of amenities and a great place to go that isn’t far from home. Bathroom/shower services were exceptional. Everyone was very friendly. Love that there were plenty of activities and the groundskeepers even gave Easter treats for the kiddos.

Excellent trip with my kids. We rented the only cabin that allows dogs. Thank goodness that was available. Although it was cold outside our cabin was warm and toasty. .. until my high school son turned off the heater because he was too warm! My three kids also enjoyed the Recreation room. It has air hockey, a billiard's table, and numerous video games. WiFi was a little weak in our cabin but was solid in the Rec room. The bathrooms are cleaned regularly and are well maintained. There is also two sinks available to clean dishes. It was nice to have a deep sink available to do dishes in instead of having to do it at our campsite. The campsite staff were extremely friendly and pleasant. For summer visitors, the onsite in-ground pool looked nice and well maintained (max depth 5ft). I will definitely return. There is also canoeing and other activities to participate in during the summer.

I had the most amazing time here, the staff were amazing and so helpful, the area was far enough away from everyone that you couldn't hear all the noise but close enough you can still go out and explore, the kayaking was my favorite part they had so much to explore and so many different birds to see as well. North bay is by far an amazing place to stay it was very clean and the staff again were so amazing Im definitely coming back again!
