Riverside Campground Rules & Policies

Overnight Camper Rules

Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-in begins at 2:00 PM.

  • Check-out is by 11:00 AM.

  • Guests remaining on-site after 10:00 AM may be charged an additional night’s fee.

  • We will do our best to accommodate special requests when possible. Please contact the office if additional accommodations are needed.


Quiet Hours & Conduct

  • Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

  • Please be respectful of neighboring campers and keep noise to a minimum.

  • Fires may not be started after 10:00 PM.

  • Guests who fail to comply with quiet hour policies may be required to leave the campground without refund.


Children

  • Campers under 16 years old must remain at their family campsite between 9:00 PM and 7:00 AM unless accompanied by an adult.

  • Children must be supervised at all times for their safety.


Campfires

  • Fires are permitted only in designated fire rings or fireplaces.

  • Flames may not exceed 24 inches above the fire ring.

  • Firewood is available for purchase at the camp store.

  • Cutting trees, removing branches, or collecting firewood on campground property is prohibited.


Electrical Usage

  • Portable electric heaters are not permitted.

  • Water/electric site outlets are intended only for lighting, phone charging, computers, and small appliances under 10 amps.

  • High-draw appliances including air conditioners, griddles, and hot plates are prohibited on water/electric-only sites.


Campsite Care

  • Please leave your campsite clean and in the condition you found it.

  • Notify staff immediately if your site requires attention upon arrival.

  • Place all trash in designated dumpsters.

  • Clotheslines may not be attached to utilities, site posts, or trees.

  • Please respect campsite boundaries.


Food Waste & Trash

  • Maine law prohibits dumping food waste anywhere except approved trash receptacles.

  • Please scrape dishes before washing to avoid clogging drains.


Visitors

  • Guests are responsible for the behavior of their visitors.

  • All visitors must check in at the office and pay applicable visitor fees before entering the campground.

  • Visitors must leave quietly before 10:00 PM.

  • Overnight visitors will incur overnight and parking fees.


Pet Policy

  • Pets are welcome but must be registered at the office upon arrival.

  • Current rabies and distemper certificates are required.

  • Pets must remain leashed and under control at all times.

  • Owners must immediately clean up pet waste.

  • Aggressive behavior, excessive barking, or disruptive pets will not be tolerated.

  • Pets may not be left unattended if they disturb other guests.

  • Pets are not allowed in the pool area.

  • Guests are fully responsible for any damage or injury caused by their pets.


Pool Rules

  • No lifeguard is on duty. Swim at your own risk.

  • Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult over 18.

  • Swim diapers are required for children who are not toilet trained.

  • No pets, glass containers, or unsafe behavior in the pool area.

  • Pool hours are typically 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.


Prohibited Items & Activities

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Fireworks

  • Firearms or weapons

  • Illegal drugs

  • Public intoxication

  • Underage drinking

Violations may result in immediate removal from the campground and involvement of local law enforcement.

Refund Policy

  • No refunds after check-in or arrival.

RV, Tent & Transient Sites

  • 0–14 days before arrival: No refund

  • 15–30 days: Refund minus 25% fee

  • 31+ days: Refund minus 12% fee

Cabins & Rentals

  • 0–30 days: No refund

  • 31+ days: Refund minus 10% fee

Seasonal Sites

  • $1,000 deposit is non-refundable

  • No refunds during the camping season

  • Refunds after re-rental are at management discretion

Holiday Weekends

No refunds for:

  • Memorial Day

  • Fourth of July

  • Labor Day

  • Columbus Day


Liability

Riverside Campground is privately owned. Guests assume all risks associated with camping and recreational activities.

By staying at Riverside Campground, guests agree to:

  • Release Riverside Campground, its owners, and employees from liability for injury, loss, or damage.

  • Accept responsibility for the conduct and safety of all members of their party and visitors.

  • Indemnify and hold harmless Riverside Campground from claims arising from their stay or use of campground facilities.

Management reserves the right to remove any guest, visitor, or camper from the property for violations of campground rules or disruptive behavior.
