The Original Round Top Antiques Fair is a semi-annual (now three-times-a-year) antiques show in Round Top, Texas — a town the fair's own site puts at a population of 90. It was founded in 1968 by Emma Lee Turney and bills itself as "the show that started it all," and as one of the largest antique shows in the country. Ownership recently passed to the Layne family, who had bought the Blue Hills venue in 2018. Mechanically, it's a multi-venue dealer show rather than a single fairground event. The Original fair runs out of the Big Red Barn and Blue Hills, with a new Continental Barn opening for the Fall 2026 show. The venue address is 475 Texas Hwy 237 South, Carmine, TX 78932. Dealers rent space, shoppers buy tickets, and the show runs for a set block of days — Fall Oct 25–31, Winter Jan 21–23, Spring TBA. The larger phenomenon people mean by "Round Top" is bigger than this one fair. The site describes the event as spanning roughly 11 miles along Texas State Highway 237 — that stretch fills with independently run shows, fields, and pop-up tents from separate promoters (Marburger Farm, Warrenton and others), each with their own dates and gates. The Original fair is the anchor and the oldest, but attendees generally treat the whole corridor as one shopping trip over several days. Audience is antiques and vintage buyers, interior designers, and dealers — the fair claims over a hundred thousand shoppers from around the country and the world. The Fall show opens with a Designer Day on Oct 25 aimed at the trade before general days begin.
