SHERMAN PARK CAMPGROUND RULES
1. All campers must register for camping with the City of Sault Ste. Marie, MI online at www.saultcity.com. Campsite must be paid for prior to setting up tent(s) or placing trailer in a designated campsite. 2. Check-in time is 3:00. Check out time is 12:00 noon. If the campsite is left unattended past check out time, camper items left at site may be removed by the city and the campsite may be registered to a new camper.
3. Camping will be permitted only on established and marked campsites.
4. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m. No loud music at any time. No running generators during quiet hours.
5. Trailers/campers must have current and legal license plates attached to trailer/camper.
6. Limit units per site: Units can be (a) Two pup tents; (b) one pup tent plus one family tent; (c) One trailer plus one pup tent. Screen tents will be classified as “family” tent or two “pup” tents.
7. Maximum two vehicles per site. Visitors may use Sherman Park parking lot.
8. Campground speed limit is 10 mph.
9. Campfires in fire rings only. No use of chainsaws allowed.
10. Burning/hauling of brush and timber debris from wooded areas is not allowed.
11. Harvesting of standing timber is not allowed.
12. No burning, storage or processing of whole pallets is allowed.
13. If camper’s supply of firewood is not used prior to the end of the season, it must be properly disposed of before leaving the campground for the season.
14. An overabundance of items is not allowed on site (large wood piles, multiple tarps, wood pallets, sofa chairs, dog houses, and non-related camping items).
15. Trash receptacles are available throughout the park. Do not put trash in fire pits. Please dispose of all refuse.
16. Campers are not allowed to bring trash from home for disposal in barrels/dumpster at Sherman Park.
17. Please keep dogs quiet and leashed at all times. Dogs cannot be left unattended. Campers are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. Bring pets inside at night.
18. Showers and bathrooms are not for campground use. All campers must use vault toilet(s) on top of the hill.
19. Please confine the use of alcohol to designated areas only.
20. Registered campers are responsible for all activity at their campsite (to include visitors). If problems occur, and if deemed necessary, you and/or visitors may be asked to leave the campground by Parks Staff or the Sault Ste. Marie Police Department.
21. No dumping of raw sewage (Black tank) or Grey Water anywhere within the park facility including the vault (pit) toilets unless in a site with hook-up to sewer. All disposal pipes on trailer/camper must be capped at all times unless in a hook-up site.
22. No items are to be hung from tree branches throughout the campsite. One (1) rope clothesline is allowed.
23. Only one (1) picnic table allowed per site.
24. No vehicle or RV washing in the campground.
25. The Park is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
26. Violation of Sherman Park Campground Rule(s) May Result in Termination of Camp Site Rental.
27. In Case of Emergency please call 911.
IN THE EVENT OF LOSS, DAMAGE, OR DESTRUCTION OF ANY PROPERTY DUE TO THE NEGLIGENCE, MISCONDUCT,
WRONGFUL ACT OR OMISSION ON THE PART OF THE GUEST, ITS EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, REPRESENTATIVES, OR SUBCONTRACTORS, THE GUEST SHALL PAY THE FULL COST OF EITHER REPAIR, RECONSTRUCTION, OR REPLACEMENT OF PROPERTY, AT THE GUEST’S SOLE ELECTION. SUCH COST SHALL BE DETERMINED BY THE CITY OF SAULT STE. MARIE AND SHALL BE DUE AND PAYABLE BY THE GUEST NINETY (90) CALENDAR DAYS AFTER THE DATE OF THE GUEST’S RECEIPT FROM THE CITY OF SAULT STE. MARIE’S WRITTEN NOTICE OF THE AMOUNT DUE.
I AGREE TO READ AND COMPLY WITH ALL CAMPGROUND RULES AND REGULATIONS AS POSTED ON THE PROPERTY AND THE COPY THAT HAS BEEN ISSUED TO ME AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION.
