Sleeping Dragon was a fine spot for an evening. The camp store and proprietors were just great. The grounds were fine. My kiddo and I enjoyed the giant chess board. If I had to be honest, some of the long term campers there were really letting there spots and campers get dilapidated, moldy and run down. That was a bit of a weird vibe….but honestly didn’t bother us that much, but I could see that giving some folks a spooky feeling. To be clear, it was purely visual…..anyone we encountered was totally respectful and cool. Again, overall, we had a fine time there. Place was nice and quiet, had what we needed. Great meadow for dog walks. The veteran owned vibe was cool. Massive sand hill cranes were a bonus. If possible, just check in directly with the front desk. I feel like the third party online check in gouged us on price a bunch.
