Stone Mountain Park — Reviews

The campsites are rustic. We were there for Thanksgiving. That was lots of leaves on our site which made it hard to see the markers. Sites are not paved, but fairly level. There’s lots to do at Stone Mountain and close to shopping, restaurants, and other venue. There was a fire pit and a picnic table at our site. The picnic table was in need of being replaced or repaired as the wood stay damp and was not completely rotted, but was soft. So you couldn’t sit on it with your clothes or your clothes would be ruined. The fire pit was too close to our motorhome to be able to use it. In fact, folks in the site next to us used theirs, and it was very close to our Motorhome. There is some construction going on at the front of the campground looked like a building was being built. I don’t know what it is, but they are working on enhancements.

Great campground. Had activities for the kids. Staff was so friendly and great with the kids. Check in and out process was smooth and bathroom facilities were available and clean

Nice to see money being put into the registration office and general store. Significant investment needs to be put into sites. Stayed in the M loop and our site was missing large chunks of asphalt. Never have I had to level our camper tires with four blocks. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay and will absolutely return in the future.

Great view and facilities. The park have a lot of atttractions for the entire family. Walmart is 5 mins away if anything is needed, the golf course is just a stone throws, overall a great place to stay!

Check in was easy after having to wait in line over 30 minutes to pay for parking!I was not happy about paying for parking to get the to the campsite after already paying $72 a night. The site was pretty level. Paid for a lake view but the trees blocked the view so could not see much of the lake. The road leading to the site needs work so rutted.

The campsite provided a beautiful setting along the lake with a tremendous view of Stone Mountain. The amenities made for an enjoyable stay (bathrooms, picnic table, etc. )

Overall the campground was great. Very clean and well run but they definitely pack them in there. Also the firewood was unfortunately very wet and wouldn't burn.

This was our first trip to Stone Mountain - and it was wonderful! The campground was packed, so I was a bit nervous at first, but it was actually the cleanest, quietest weekend trip to date! The showers were clean and spacious, the grounds were well-maintained, and we had a beautiful view of the lake! Also, I cannot fail to mention all the fun things to do during our stay within the park itself! We had a great stay and will be back again!

Nice level sites. Comfort station in our section could use some work.

3-7 Sept25 stay Trail M #276. View was great but 6x6 wood framing the site was falling apart (termite damage) which was unsafe trying to walk around dealing with hookups. Roads have huge bumps due to root damage and asphalt falling apart. No problem with speeders though. Staff friendly, trash pickup at the site daily. Would only stay here for multiple days at a time. Not worth an overnight stay due to road and site conditions.

The site was very dirty and very hard to get into. The grass was not maintained and the bathrooms were very dirty. I would’ve expected more from an almost $70 a night spot.
