This was our first tent camping experience. Timberland Acres was a great spot for our tent set up. We were on Road 4 Campsite #71 which was the perfect size in a lovely wooded area just a short walk from the very clean bathroom/showers. We had water and electricity on our site which was in great condition. The campground had a mix of RV and tent sites. We met a seasonal RV camper just two sites down who was on staff and was extremely helpful to us on several questions we had. The office staff were very welcoming and very helpful pointing us to the Acadia National Park free shuttle service just a few miles down the road (use GPS to find Gateway Center Road as there is still construction going on for the future visitor center and you could drive right by without realizing it). We had lobster rolls at the campground tavern - delicious! We want to come back again. Very pleased with our experience!

We had a great spot. Lots of people seem seasonal and everyone is so nice. We didn’t go to the tavern but that was a great option. Our kids had fun with their scooters. Laundry and shower were great.

We were a bit disappointed in the size of our site, but managed to get in without any disasters. The sites are a bit tight with neighbors a bit closer than we prefer. We were also a bit concerned with the number of children we saw driving around the campground in golf carts, while the rules stated drivers needed to be 16 or older. Otherwise, the staff was friendly and the grounds were clean. Just not our preferred campground.

Easy in and out of campground and less than 30 minutes to Acadia NP. Their little bar & grill was nice. The Cuban sandwich and lobster roll were great. Laundry facilities were nice and clean. The office staff are very knowledgeable of the area and gave good recommendations.
