Your adventure begins with a few helpful reminders.

WinMan BaseCamp is proudly operated by WinMan Trails Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. BaseCamp is reserved only for guests who are here to enjoy the WinMan trails and public amenities.

Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-in: 3:00 PM CST

  • Check-out: 11:00 AM CST

  • BaseCamp is self-serve, so once you arrive, just head to your reserved site or cabin and start exploring!

  • Arriving early? Park at either trailhead and hit the trails until check-in.

Quiet Hours

  • Let’s keep things peaceful between 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM for those recharging after a big day outside.

Generator Use

  • Allowed between 9:00 – 11:00 AM  and 5:00 - 7:00 PM only, out of respect for your neighbors.

Restrooms & Showers

  • Open 24/7. Help us keep them clean for everyone. Showers are free—please keep your use reasonable so everyone gets their turn.

  • The ADA & family restroom is for everyone but give priority to those who need it most.

Saunas

  • Swimsuits or clothing are required. Both saunas are unisex, please only heat up the second one if the first is full.

Trash & Recycling

  • Trash and aluminum can recycle bins are near the main parking lot (road accessible).

  • Clean up your site each night (especially food and trash) to avoid critter visits.

  • Follow Leave No Trace principles.

Dump Station

  • We don’t have a dump station onsite, please use our partner location:

    • Schomberg Park – 9701N Hwy 51, Hurley, WI 54534

    • Hours: 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM | Rate: $15 per dump

Campfires

  • Fires only in designated rings

  • No fires during Emergency Burning Restrictions (posted daily by 11 AM)

  • Local firewood is available for purchase onsite. Only bring outside wood from local sources.

  • Please don’t cut or damage live trees, feel free to collect fallen branches instead.

Parking

  • Each site/cabin allows 2 vehicles max.

  • Park on gravel only, no grassy areas or road edges.

  • Extra vehicles? Use the Papoose Parking Lot for $8/day (no overnight street parking).

  • No trailer parking in public lots, please ensure trailers fit within your reserved site.

Pet Policies

  • Max 2 pets per site or cabin

  • Pets allowed in cabins for an extra $20 per stay

  • Owners are responsible for any damage

  • Pets must be leashed at all times in the campground

  • Clean up after your pet, failure to do so will result in removal from the park

  • No pets in bathhouses (except during severe weather)

  • Vaccinations required (per insurance)

  • No excessive barking

Speed Limit: 5 MPH

  • For everyone’s safety—including kids and pups. Violations may result in removal from the campground.

Motorized Recreation

  • ATVs, UTVs, and snowmobiles are not permitted at BaseCamp. This space is dedicated to bike, hike, and ski adventurers on the WinMan trail system.

Fireworks & Firearms

  • For everyone’s safety and peace of mind, fireworks are not allowed on the property.

  • Legally possessed firearms must remain secured in vehicles and may not be displayed or used on site.

Drug-Free Environment

  • BaseCamp is a family-friendly campground. The use of illegal substances is not permitted.

Severe Weather

  • Take shelter in Pop's Lodge. Pets are allowed inside during severe weather events.

Site Changes

  • Want to switch sites? Email us first at BaseCamp@WinManTrails.com. Moves aren’t always possible due to bookings and maintenance.

  • Call 9-1-1 and provide your site number.
