Camp Fife Terms and Conditions

The goal of Camp Fife is to deliver wilderness and learning adventures that showcase outdoor experiences through providing a wholesome, youth developmental camping experience, and it is required that visitors act in a way that accomplishes this goal and protects youth visitors.

Camp Fife is predominately a Youth Camp, and the Terms and Conditions are established with this as the priority.

Any reservation that violates these terms and conditions is subject to immediate cancelation and removal from the property, possibly without refund. Any questions should be directed to admin@campfife.org.

General Conduct

Camp Fife seeks to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all visitors, with a focus on youth. Your cooperation in creating a welcoming environment for everyone is appreciated.

  • Language or behavior that belittles or negatively impacts others. Including but not limited to hazing, bullying, fighting, initiations, ridicule, profane language, or teasing is prohibited.
  • Camp quiet time is from 9pm (or 1 hour after sundown, whichever is later) until 6am.
  • Lights are out at 11pm.
  • Clothing must be modest and not contain degrading or profane statements.
  • Music is discouraged, if played it is to be kept at a respectful volume and should be appropriate for a youth camp.
  • Do not walk through other guest’s sites when navigating the camp. Use the roads and designated paths to walk around the campground.
  • Vandalism of any kind by anyone in your group (regardless of age) may result in eviction from the property and the party responsible for the booking will be responsible for the costs of repair or replacement.

Drug and Alcohol

During normal operations the following rules apply, visitors caught breaking these may have their reservation cancelled and be asked to leave the property.

  • Possession or consumption of alcohol is not permitted at Camp Fife.
  • Public intoxication is not tolerated at Camp Fife, even if the alcohol is consumed at a secondary off property site.
  • Possession of unprescribed drugs, or abuse of prescribed drugs, are not permitted.
  • Smoking and vaping is not permitted at Camp Fife. Visitors caught smoking may have their reservation cancelled and be asked to leave the property.
    (Note: The legal smoking and tobacco product purchase age in Washington State is 21 years old, as established by the "Tobacco 21" law that went into effect on January 1, 2020. This law makes it illegal for retailers to sell or provide any tobacco or vapor products to individuals under the age of 21.)

During Whole of Camp bookings an alternate alcohol policy is available in line with Washington State laws for Banquet Permits or Special Occasion Licenses. Contact admin@campfife.org for details.

External Organization Compliance

Camp Fife is designed for and attracts many external youth development groups. It is appreciated that these all have their own rules, policies and guidelines. Camp Fife nor other visitors are responsible for knowing, adhering, or policing of each specific group’s rules, including but not limited to Youth Protection Rules, Camping Policies, Code of Conduct, and Training Requirements. These groups should plan based on the expectation that people are adhering to these Terms and Conditions only.

Independent of each individual group’s rules, and minimum every visitor must adhere to the following…

  • Youth must be supervised by an adult (over 18 years old) at a ratio of not less than that required by the American Camp Association of…
    • 5 years and younger       1:5
    • 6 to 8 years                      1:6
    • 9 to 14 years                   1:8
    • 15 to 18 years                 1:10
  • Youth must engage in a buddy system or groups, so no child is allowed alone unless with the guardian(s) that brought them to Camp Fife.
  • Adults supervising specific activities offered by Camp Fife must meet the minimum supervision/training/qualification required to book that facility/activity. This may be less than or more than that required by the specific youth group participating. Failure to prove compliance with or maintain adherence during the participation of this facility/activity may result in cancellation of the booking.
  • Children must always be properly supervised by an adult to ensure their safety. Camp staff is not responsible for supervising your children.

Safety

  • Severe Weather - In case of severe weather, seek shelter in the dining hall.
  • Fire – Should there be a fire in the vicinity, updates will be sort and shared via the Admin and Safety Building.
  • Communications – There is no mobile coverage or other communications options at Camp Fife. Emergency communication via a satellite phone is available at the Admin and Safety Building if needed.

Firearms, Explosives, and Projectiles

  • Explosives are prohibited at Camp Fife.
  • Fireworks are prohibited at Camp Fife.
  • Items that risk a fire, such as but not limited to, sparklers, smoke bombs, and science reactions are prohibited at Camp Fife.
  • BB guns, Pellet guns, and all projectile launching devices such as potato cannons are prohibited at Camp Fife.
  • Firearms
    Generally firearms are discouraged, however if they are being brought onsite for the purpose of local hunting it is understood
    • Prior notification must be made to advise the intention to bring firearms onsite by contacting admin@campfife.com. If this is not done, you may be asked to remove them from the property and/or have your reservation cancelled.
    • No loaded firearms are allowed on Camp Fife property.
    • Firearms must be maintained behind two locks. Example locked box in a locked vehicle.
    • Ammunition must be stored in a locked location.
    • No open-carry of firearms.
    • Firearms may only be handled with intention such as relocating or cleaning. General handling and displaying of firearms is prohibited.
  • Archery, Slingshots, and Throwing Sports
    • All items related to archery, slingshots, and throwing sports (such as hatchet throwing and knife throwing (not ball sports)) are to be stored behind one lock such as a box, trailer, or car.

Vehicle Policy

This policy includes all vehicles including but not limited to cars, trucks, ATV’s, dirt bikes, motorcycles, mountain bikes, bicycles, electric bikes, motorized toys. golf carts, and motorized coolers.

  • If there is a gate, and it is closed that means that you can’t go past it. Do not open a gate. Do not go around the gate.
  • All Camp Fife roads have a speed limit of 5 miles per hour.
  • Hazard lights, if present, must be on while driving on Camp Fife property.
  • Vehicles may park in designated spaces only.
  • Standard safety equipment must be utilized including seatbelts and bike helmets.
  • Driving off the designated roads is prohibited.
  • No vehicle can block or park on the roadways.
  • People must hold a valid license for the vehicle they are operating as required by the Washington State Laws.

Breaking these vehicle rules will result in a warning. Multiple warnings will require us to ask you to leave. Safety is a priority for our guests.

Environmental Policy

Nestled in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest care for the environment around us is of utmost importance.

  • Leave No Trace (leave everything as you found it).
  • No hammocks
  • No damaging trees
  • No collecting firewood off the ground
  • No glass on camp property (bottles, bowls, craft, and similar.)

Camp Utilities

Food, Trash, and Recycling

Camp Fife seeks to provide an aesthetically pleasing and enjoyable experience for all guests and campers. To maintain the cleanliness and charm of our camp please manage your trash thoughtfully.

  • Food must be stored in bear-proof containers
  • Trash must be placed in bear proof trash cans.
  • Animals love to play and turn valuable camping gear and activity equipment into trash so please store it wisely at night and when away from your campsite.
  • If the first trash can is full, please find another one.
  • Do not dispose of wires, oil, furniture, mattresses, motor oil, cooking oil, or any toxic or hazardous waste or chemicals in our trash cans. Failure to adhere to this rule may result in charges for disposal fees.
  • If you are recycling, we currently recycle cardboard and aluminum. Please dispose of recycling items in blue garbage bins.

Water Policy

There are two water sources on property

  • Non-portable water – this is used in the fire fighting system and the old water style outlets on the parade field with red tops.
  • Do not drink, cook or consume this water
  • Do not use this water for any purpose without permission in writing from admin@campfife.org
  • Portable Water – this water comes from a bore and undergoes regular heal department checks and is safe for consumption. It services all the buildings, restrooms, and blue-topped water outlets in the campsites.
  • No washing trailers, boats, etc.
  • Do not leave water running unnecessarily

Septic Tanks

  • Camp Fife is on septic tanks, follow the instructions posted in grey water/sewage locations to ensure a healthy system.

Electrical Use

Camp Fife has a generator but only runs if booking a facility that comes with power or power is paid for.

  • You are responsible for understanding how many amps you are using in our RV. Amp usage over the AMPs provided can trip your breaker. Please be mindful of your amp usage, so that you don’t trip your breaker during your stay.
  • Inside lights are not used during the day.

Animal Policy

Animals native to this area are plentiful and we want to keep this natural environment for all guests to enjoy.

  • Other than those required for assistance, pets are not allowed at Camp Fife.
  • Do not feed the animals or discard food on the ground
  • Food must be stored in bear-proof containers
  • Trash must be placed in bear proof trash cans
  • Animals love to play and turn valuable camping gear and activity equipment into trash so please store it wisely at night and when away from your campsite.

Fire Policy

Camp Fife follows the US Forest Service | Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest| Naches Ranger District fire guidance. This guidance can be checked before leaving home to plan accordingly at the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest| Naches Ranger District website https://www.fs.usda.gov/r06/okanogan-wenatchee .

Security Policy

  • As a Camp Fife is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged articles.  Keep your valuables safe.
  • Report any problems with your site to the Admin/Safety office immediately.
  • We adhere to and maintain all state, county, and local laws on property.
  • If you find a gate shut, you leave it shut, if you find a gate open, you leave it open.

Cleaning Policy

  • Rented Facilities must be cleaned prior to departure, including accommodation, toilet/shower facilities, and activity facilities. Failure to do so allows Camp Fife to charge a cleaning fee.
  • No alterations can be made to camping facilities including the removal of furniture or fixtures from housing units. Please report any issues to the Admin Office.

Any damage to Camp Fife property will be the responsibility of the registered guest on file. Guest agrees to pay for all damage caused by any member of their party.

Cancellation and Refund Policy 

Customer acknowledges that notice of any cancellation in the reservation for Camp Fife must occur in writing to admin@campfife.org or on the website CampSpot.com. Monies will be refunded in accordance with the corresponding cancellation policy as given below.  At no time will the transaction fee be refunded. For bookings canceled 30 days or more prior to the arrival date a full refund minus a $25 cancellation fee will apply. For bookings canceled 14 to 29 days prior to the arrival date a 50% cancellation fee applies. For bookings canceled 7 to 13 days prior to the arrival date a 25% cancellation fee applies. Booking cancelled less than 7 days prior will not receive a refund.

Rescheduling Policy and Fee. Customer acknowledges that within 30 days prior to their arrival time if they reschedule there will be a fee of $25.

GENERAL LIABILITY RELEASE

As a participant in a recreation activity, I am responsible for acting within the limits of my ability and heeding all warnings regarding participation in the activity. I will maintain control of myself and any equipment while participating in the activity and will refrain from acting in any manner that may cause or contribute to injury to myself or to others.

I HEREBY RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE the Friends of Camp Fife and its board and agents from any and all liability to me, my children, my invitees/guests, personal representatives, and heirs for any loss or damage on account of injury to person (including death) or loss or damage to property relating to, or arising out of, use and occupancy of Camp Fife property, facilities, and amenities and any dangers and hazards associated with acts of nature such as changing weather conditions; high winds; thunder and lightning; temperature fluctuations; falling trees; tree limbs, or encounters with wildlife.

I HEREBY AGREE TO INDEMNIFY, SAVE AND HOLD HARMLESS Friends of Camp Fife Management, Employees and Contactors and each of them, from any loss, liability, damage, or cost (including attorney fees) they may incur due to injury (including death), damage or loss of property relating to use of Camp Fife by me, my children, and/or my invitees/guests or due to any incidents that may occur during my stay. I understand that, although the Boy Scouts of America Management makes every reasonable effort to provide a secure environment, the security of my person, my belongings, and all persons registered in my party is my sole responsibility.

The Premises are privately owned, and FRIENDS OF CAMP FIFE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE to anyone for any reason except for those prohibited by law. The Friends of Camp Fife  Management, Employees, and Contractors reserves the right to require any person or party it deems necessary, to leave the camp based on violations of the Terms of Service or behavior management deems inappropriate or disturbing to others. Harassment or mistreatment of our staff or other guests, including but not limited to, racist comments or hate speech, will not be tolerated under any circumstances. I have read this notice and agree to it as well as all Camp Fife rules and regulations. In addition, I understand that I am responsible for the actions of all persons in my party, including any children, and any guests that visit during my stay. On behalf of each person in my party, I grant the Friends of Camp Fife and its affiliated entities and promotional partners the right to include any photographic, video, and other visual portrayals of each person in my party in any medium and for any purpose.

I agree and shall cause all member of my registered party, to abide by the Camp Fife Rules and Policies, including those rules and policies posted at Camp Fife or otherwise communicated in any manner by Friends of Camp Fife Management.

The above rules are enforced according to the discretion of Camp Management and Camp Staff. Anyone found in violation of these rules will be subject to being asked to leave the camp without a refund. Please be respectful and kind to your fellow campers so that we can provide the most family friendly experience possible.
