I had an absolutely wonderful first stay at Camp Williams Resort. Check-in was smooth, fast, friendly, informative, and genuinely welcoming. Cathy greeted me, explained everything clearly, and showed me to my site, which made arriving and settling in incredibly easy. My campsite was spacious, flat, surrounded by trees, and had fantastic natural shade. Privacy is somewhat limited before you establish your own camp setup, but once I had everything arranged it felt like my own little home in the woods. Being able to park right beside the campsite was honestly one of my favorite features. As someone camping solo—and someone who may occasionally bring a little more gear than necessary 😁—being able to unload directly at camp instead of carrying everything down hills, rocks, or stairs felt like heaven. My site accommodated 5 campers, one vehicle; an additional vehicle was listed at $35 per night. The river access was excellent. Depending on your campsite, you're about a minute or less from the water. The river was clean, cold, flowing beautifully, and incredibly peaceful. Finding perfectly flat places to settle beside the river can take a little searching, but once you find your spot, the scenery is wonderful. It is also extremely photogenic—I felt like almost anywhere I pointed my camera made a great picture. I happened to be camping with nobody else around, so the experience was VERY peaceful and serene. 😂 It was just me and my best friend/travel companion, Harley 🐕, and I genuinely loved the feeling of being out there adventuring together. Camp Williams is very dog-friendly; just keep your pup leashed, especially because you are still surrounded by real nature and wildlife. Harley spent much of her time staying beside me, investigating everything, defending the kingdom from bees, and attempting to negotiate for portions of every meal I made. 😂 The restrooms and showers were another huge plus. They were clean, maintained, and had no unpleasant smell. The shower had great water pressure and temperature. Shower tokens are purchased at the café register, and one token gives you six glorious minutes of aqua oasis after a day outside. 😂 George, who I spoke with during my stay, was great to talk to and clearly puts real effort into the maintenance and upkeep of the property and restrooms. The campground itself was very clean and well cared for. Some sites have washing areas with faucets, there are dedicated locking trash bins, the restroom facilities were maintained, and the river area remained beautiful and clean. The café was not available during most of my stay because of its operating days, but when open it also carries camping supplies, which is a great convenience if you forget something. Speaking of forgetting something: bring bug spray. 😂 That was my mistake, not theirs. I had considerably more than 5 campsite visitors than invited. One of my favorite moments came after setting everything up, making lunch, and finally sitting down. I looked around at the quiet campground and realized how much I was enjoying being there—even completely alone. Later that first night, after I showered and relaxed in the tent, Harley apparently decided she approved of our accommodations and started doing zoomies all over the tent. 😂 That pretty much sealed the deal. Between the incredibly easy campsite access, clean bathrooms and showers, beautiful river, peaceful environment, dog-friendly atmosphere, helpful staff, and overall ease of camping here, I really couldn't ask for much more. If you love camping, nature, cleanliness, and being able to actually enjoy your trip instead of fighting your campsite, I absolutely recommend Camp Williams Resort. Rating: 11/10. I will definitely be returning—summer, winter, and probably another 99,999 times. 😁🏕️
