Lake Camanche South Shore — Reviews

I had space 66, easy to park RV and hook up. Close to lake and nice to walk around area. Loved seeing the different birds every where. Very clean. Dog park easy to walk to.

Lots of rain and cold but still caught fish and enjoyed our stay

Enjoyed our mini family vacation at Lake Camanche, we stayed in Monument. It was quiet, even though there were lots of campers, fishing and nice walks. We look forward to going back.

Good price ($58 a day ), but the fire pit was FULL of ash, like to the tippy top, that we had to clean out when we got there. And there were hot coals in the mix as well. Other than that weather permitting, it was a good time, quiet, cold rainy, and stormy.

It was a great stay this weekend. Our visitors were first timers and lake camanche did not scared them away. Please keep your bathrooms clean especially when there a lot of people, you should double up on cleaning time.

The place is nice and clean. The reason for my dissatisfaction is that they charge me $15 for 2 half days fishing in the pond, without telling me that the pond hasn’t been stocked yet this year! The lady refused to refund!

We were disappointed that the site we booked did not accommodate our motorhome due to overgrown trees. We were able to move to another site which was acceptable. We were also very disappointed with the staff at the main gate. The person who helped us find another site was fantastic but the other staff member in the office was very rude.

Well maintained facilities. Not much room between the RV spots and fairly narrow roads throughout the park. We did have an issue with ants invading our RV, as did a few other campers. Priced reasonably and we were able to find last minute reservations too! Will definitely be back again!

Relaxing and fun with family

Paid for water front space, and no water. Also, maintenance guy decided to use blower to blow dirt from a cement slab all over camp site because he didnt want to use a broom.

Peaceful and quite!

The lake is huge! The campsite where we were at was great it was walking distance to bathrooms,showers,laundry & water faucets to clean dishes. Dog friendly. Close to the lake. We brought are kyak easy access to loading. They have a store with all the necessities if needed. Bring a canopy of some sort for shade. It gets hot there.

We ended up turning around and going elsewhere. The level of the lake has dropped so you couldn’t swim , there was nothing there and it just wasn’t for us - we didn’t stay at all in the end

Staff and check in very easy. Site was easy to access, but finding it was somewhat difficult, bad signage. Full hookup incl 50amp service. No wifi period. Sites have asphalt pads, no grass (drought) and are close together.
