Oxbow Park — Reviews

We were frustrated with the size of our lot. Very narrow compared to most. We had no picnic table or fire pit. We cared the most about a picnic table and filed a paper complaint for maintenance right away. 2nd day we complained again that we still didn't have it. We never got one our whole stay.

Cabin is older. Obviously can expect some issues. The first two days the odor was horrific. After airing out and washing as many surfaces as possible. It smelled tolerable. Definitely needs to have maintenances updates. Screen tore out and the shelf under the counter top is all peeling up. No way to sanitize the surface. If it was not for the odor it would have been a wonderful stay. Camp fire setting was wonderful. Bathrooms were kept clean for what they are. Staff was very friendly.

Grandkids had a great time. They love the water slide.

Great Spot. Chill. Quiet. Great access to Hardy. Fun.

Loved the cabin. It was perfect for our weekend getaway. Will absolutely be back.

The cabin was spacious and very clean. Had great amenities and a port-a-John nearby. The beach area was perfect and the views of the river spectacular. Lots of events for kids and families - crafts and Bingo were our favorites. The shower facilities were clean with plenty of hot water. We will definitely go back.

We've been going there about 9 years they still have not upgraded the bathrooms and the up front office doesn't seem to really know what's going on at the present time we do love the park and the great views.

Our grey water hole did not drain fast enough so we could not use it without it overflowing onto our site even with trying to do it slowly. Also the black tank hole at the front needed to be serviced for half of our trip so we couldn’t empty our black tank and had to pay $20 to empty at a nearby campground.

Our fishing tackle box, all our brand new crawler harnesses and my sunglasses were stollen out of our boat when tied to the dock. A couple of other campers had the same problem. One sink in the bathroom was not working and one other sink not working properly. On a positive note, the staff, when checking in, were very friendly. I did file a police report regarding stollen articles.

Oxbow park is always a favorite! Great for families and young people, alike. This Memorial Day weekend we rented Cabin #2, pet friendly and beautiful views in a quieter area of the park. We would definitely rent a cabin again in the future!

We called at 12:30 pm to check to be sure that we would be set to arrive after 4:30. We were told our key was ready and it would be no problem. We arrived and the staff couldn’t find the key. There wasn’t a “master” key, they would call a cleaning person to see if she had it after she had cleaned. She claimed she didn’t have it. Well there just happened to be a seasonal camper there that was a locksmith. We said they needed to figure it. I was really unhappy. They offered to move us to a different cabin, but my husband has a terrible back and needed the full bed that is only in the first cabin. We told them when we called the person said we would be all set. Well the locksmith broke in and the trash was still full, the cabin wasn’t cleaned, and there were ants everywhere. To say I was unhappy is an understatement. The manager came in, cleaned the cabin, apologized, and said she would make it right. Well no one made it right. We enjoyed our time but were seriously disappointed in the experience.
