Starved Rock Family Campground — Reviews

Our family loves this place! Helpful, friendly staff and very solid facilities. It's clear they care about their park. Also, not sure how they manage it but there weren't many mosquitoes and it rained several times during our stay. Walking trails between camp sites are kept tidy; nothing here seems overgrown. Only downside is the noise from the interstate; nothing they can do about that. We'll be back.

Starved Rock State park is awesome and this campground is super close. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars was because I didn't realize how little shade my campsite would have. We were absolutely roasting under the sun during the day as we had no canopy. There were many other spots within the trees that looked great. I'll definitely be selecting one of those next time.

Site T2 was perfect for my family of 5 + dog. Clean bathrooms and shower house nearby. Close to Starved Rock State Park. Surprisingly few bugs (we didn’t even put on the bug spray)!

Everyone was so friendly. Park was extremely clean and well maintained. Bathrooms were close to our site. Perfect location close to Starved Rock.

It was clean, quiet and just what the family needed. Nature and peace and quiet

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We were able to hike the whole campground easily and enjoyed seeing how clean, well-kept and manicured it was. The rec-area was great on a cold and windy day. The community fire-pit With fountain and giant chair was so nice! Our primitive T13 was so cozy tucked in the woods. Everyone was friendly and helpful. If I head west again this will be my first choice of campgrounds in the future. Thanks to everyone working there.

The campground was clean, quiet and our site was level.

Easy check in, and we were in and out of the office in a few minutes. Nice pull through spots. I was concerned about noise being so close to the interstate, but it was actually pretty quiet. Good location to getting to Starved Rock and town. Would definitely come back here again.

The campgrounds are clean and beautiful. They are adequately spaced from other campers so you still have privacy but the option of community. The general stores has a great selection. Will definitely visit again.

Campground was clean and well maintained. Dog park and seating area were cute. Bathrooms were pretty far away from the tent sites, but the website site did warn me.
