Sun Outdoors Wells Beach — Reviews

Staff was wonderful and the accommodations were exactly as described. Our kids loved the different amenities around the park, including mini golf. We all loved the location! So close and easy to get to so many great spots in Wells!!

The common areas are very clean. There were very few people at the beginning of June. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. Don't count on the Wi-Fi, it only works at reception.

Stayed site 126. The site was flat and level.. the bathrooms were really clean. Only problem we had was the wifi was terrible. We bought a length of Coax from the camp store but it would not turn Into the connector on the post. THE maintenance guy brought a length of older coax to get us thru the weekend. We scoped out somewhere sites for a future visit. THIS WAS OUR FIRST camping trip I. Our new camper. And our first ever camping trip in more than 20 years and those were in tents

Always nice and clean and this time of year quiet! And camping near the beach is never a bad experience.

It is the off season so understandably it was a lot quieter than it usually is but it is a very nice campground and we would definitely stay there again.

Bathrooms were clean. That’s why I gave it two stars. Other than that it was a cluster. The campsites were tiny. People literally on top of each other. The dishwashing area sink was clogged from Tuesday till we left Sunday The best was trash pick up at 7am every other morning. Large truck picking up dumpsters when people are sleeping and it’s quiet time. It was so bad one morning that the kids around us were screaming frantically and there parents couldn’t calm them. Anyone ever heard how loud a dumpster sounds when it’s metal against metal. Props to the genius that put that schedule in place. Families packed up and left days early because of it. Saying they would never go back. We will also be trying elsewhere

Close to everything, clean showers with good supply of hot water and well maintained campground, the closest to the beach! Very polite and helpful staff! Loved our visit to Wells!

Honestly, I can be very hard to satisfy when it comes to the places I'll stay, but Sun Outdoors left me more than satisfied! It was perfect for our needs. It was a calm and a very respectful place ! Everyone was quiet and wasn’t disturbing. They had all the services we needed and the lady at the welcoming desk was very nice. The camping site was super clean and well maintained. I’ll definitely come back at this camping

Giving it the 3 rating because of our campground setup for tents. In the “H” site tent area there was nowhere to put tents other than directly below some fruit trees as the site is on a hill. I’ve never had so much bird poop on tents in all of my camping trips combined. I’d also like to mention to those that might need to know - this area isn’t very handicapped accessible at all. Luckily we were not disabled. I did not expect to climb so many stairs to get to the bathrooms or have to go up and down a hill with camping gear to get to the car. Other sites I’ve camped allow you to park the vehicle right near the tents. Management might consider trying to level the hill so there are more options for tent placement and to park closer to vehicle. The bathrooms had very small stalls. A larger person might have problems navigating in them. Just providing some information to those that might find it helpful to know these things. The pool was heated and great and the bathrooms were very clean. The area and neighbors were very quiet and respectful. We were able to sleep well even though we were able to hear some traffic noises from the main road. Very very very bright at night though. I would definitely recommend bringing a sleeping mask. Very conveniently located campground I just hope we can get our tents clean from all the red berry bird poop. The other tent areas might be a nice experience but I would definitely avoid the “H” sites unless you really enjoy scrubbing bird poop off tents.

Overall good. Helpful staff. Showers had very little water pressure. Great location.
