Walnut Hills Campground and RV Park — Reviews

Stay was good. Two nites, bunnies, kitties, berry quiet.

We arrived amidst a torrential downpour for a tent camping spot, Julie at the registration desk noticed the visible despair on my fiancé’s face due to the rain and offered us the ability to stay in one of their cabins free of any upcharge. Saved the weekend!

We have stayed at this campground 2-3 times a year since 2021 we have always enjoyed our time there And had a great experience. Always been a packed out campground with lots of activities and things to do. This weekend was by far the worst experience we have ever had. The new management has very poor communication as they did not communicate that half the campground was under construction with installing a new septic and new electric to part of the campground. Friday night there was a water leak and we were without water from 5:30 in the evening til sometime in the middle of the night. We woke up Saturday morning again to no water from another water leak which was off for a couple hours. Yes they got them fixed but there was no communication with campers until until after we all discovered we didn’t have water and they sent an email out. They no longer allow you to pay for early check in even though no one is on your site. There were no activities or anything going on this weekend. And maybe a total of 10 campers. Years past it has been packed. Just very disappointing as we have loved camping here and always had a good time. I hate to say we won’t be going back. Needs a lot of help.

The staff were very friendly. The grounds are beautiful. The space had an awesome view. Very peaceful An excellent stay.

Walnut Hills was nice and clean. Staff was very nice and welcoming. Also other guests staying there were friendly. It was quiet and peaceful. The dog run was so nice and clean also! We loved that it wasn’t modernized but well maintained to have that classic camping experience.

Our spot required a difficult back in because the road direction was backward from every other site on the road. The staff was nice. Lots of construction happening at the campground. The nearby pond was a bit smelly, probably because of all the springtime pollen and debris in the water. We usually stay in federal campgrounds, so this one seemed really expensive. Other than that, it was probably good compared to other private rv parks.

We had a water heater break and needed to use the camp showers, they were clean. Our spot was private.

The campsite was remote and the campground had a playground for kids to play. The staff was great and helpful.

Clean, well lit, level and friendly. Nice location and views and everything you need is on site. The map to find your site is a little difficult to read, but we arrived late and it was dark. A gentleman that works there followed us and offered to guide us when he noticed we had circled—super kind of him. If you checked in during daylight hours, it’s much easier to find your way. Would definitely stay again.

Simply perfect. This is a beautiful spot with a very friendly host. The grounds are well cared for and the amenities are everything you could need.

Everything was clean and very friendly staff. Didn’t use the amenities due to the time of year and it was very cold.

From booking until our departure, everything was awesome! Sylvia was amazing at helping with all our questions and with booking. The campground is gorgeous and well-maintained. We stayed in the Hilltop Cabin and we were pleasantly surprised. There was plenty of room for two families, 4 adults and 4 kids, as well as two dogs. We had a great time playing the disc golf course, and, of course, the kids loved the arcade. We are already planning our trip back next year!

Perfect for overnight stay. Nice and clean facilities and sites as well as water, power and dumping. Late in early out. Seamless experience.

Sites on top of one another, other campers had their cars parked in our site, aesthetically not peaceful or pleasing to look at. The front office personnel were very nice. Campground was disgusting

Halloween was so much fun - lots of children and pets. Fun activities for the kids. Site was clean as always - enjoy overlooking lake. always great to rent a golf cart.
