Wilson's Riverfront RV Park — Reviews

  • Rated4.0out of 5Great!

Loved the location ! Biking right from RV site , lots of fun exploring Asheville on ebikes . No frills site , not sure if management is on site . Our site was only one with no picnic table , but our neighbors let us bring theirs to our site. Biggest negative , smelled like sewage which limited our outside activity around RV .

Hwy noise was terrible. Campsite flooded. Numerous holes in the grass which are dangerous. Need better wifi.

1 star. Unfortunately, our stay was extremely disappointing. Our campsite had overgrown poison ivy around the area, and there was a constant, strong sewer smell/fumes throughout our stay. At Site #2, what appeared to be a septic opening was not covered with a secure septic lid — there was simply a loose rock placed over the opening. Between the sewer odor, the condition of the site, and the safety concerns, we were not able to comfortably enjoy our stay. This campground is in a beautiful location along the French Broad River, but these issues seriously need to be addressed.

Great no frills part directly on the greenway. Was able to ride into town easily. Love the location, a little odd with so many people going by on the greenway - I was in site #1 so directly on the path with no buffer. Would recommend not staying in the first 2 sites if you can help it. This was the only one available for my week stay. My site was overgrown and the sewer cap was off when I got there and buried like it had been sitting the tall grass for quite a while. Not a big deal but there was an odor for sure. No dumpster on site but they come by every morning and pick up any trash bags left at the end of your site - so very convenient.

No amenities or access safety into river. Very loud with the highway so close. They were hurt by Helena 2 years ago. We only stayed one night instead of three had to leave personal reasons.

Wonderful people made my stay memorable, fireworks on their lake for the Fourth of July was just the icing on the cake! I helped me find the perfect spot to park with a picnic table. Highly recommend Wilson’s! Thanks for the love while I was there❤️

Great sites on the river! We really enjoyed watching paddlers streaming by during the day. The moon rose that evening and glimmered across the French Broad. We stayed because this the closest well kept campground near downtown Asheville. Like 10 minutes to many locations like the Orange Peel where we had an event (that’s a super place too). There is also Asheville Adventure Company right next door for tubing and kayaks. But the main reason I give this place a five star is because of the service. There’s nobody on site, but emails and texts are promptly answered. Can’t thank Kurt for all of his ongoing help and superior hospitality. We can’t wait to stay again! Stay strong Asheville! ❤️

No one to check you in. No office. Didn’t know what lot to go to. Pictures on website do not match whats there now. Weeds along river bank were over 6’ tall. Several sewer caps were gone. Wont be back unless i need a free place to stay.

Enjoyed being on the water. The highway traffic is loud. There’s no office there, and there was someone in our site when we arrived. We called both phone numbers available, it took two hours to get a response. He was very frustrating not to have somebody responsive who is on site. We just parked in a different site number, even if we didn’t know that would be OK. There was no shade, no bathhouse, and not even Porta potties. Was nice to have sewer hook up at our site, and the picnic table was nice. We didn’t mind, but there were plenty of people walking, jogging, and riding their bikes through the campground as part of a trail.

Reasonable price on the river - right at bike trail - convenient - owner very nice. We forgot the veterans discount and he gave us a credit. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Well, there was no one to connect with, if you needed help. The grass was incredibly high and it was very weedy and it just wasn’t worth staying. I didn’t get out of the camper. I’ll never stay there again..

Never saw anyone that could remotely be called a camp host. There was no office, no bathhouse. The campground needed mowing. There was constant traffic through the campground from runners and bikers. I had no idea that the park system has a greenway that runs straight through the middle of the road. You had to watch out for runners and bikers when you were walking as to not get in their way. The road noise was terrible, 24 hours a day. We got asked by a fellow camper to put out our fire, because she has asthma and the smoke was bothering her. I will say, that the location to attractions in town is excellent. You can be to the Biltmore in a manner of minutes. There are good restaurants nearby. The river is lovely, and we had groundhogs that hung out around our campsite. The greenway is great for walking or biking, I just wish I didn’t have that much traffic in front of my camper all day long. The sites along the river were level with new concrete, but there was standing water at some of them. I wouldn’t camp here again unfortunately.

Park was difficult to get into, they did not have any restroom or shower facilities, there is a public pathway through the middle of the campground Good things, close to Biltmore Estates, central to shops and restaurants
